Transactions Dashboard

The Transactions Dashboard in PaySketch focuses on keeping all PayPal transactions consolidated in one place, while showing complete details for each one of them.

Header

The header in the Transactions Dashboard shows 4 indicators:-

Account Balance – shows the net balance in the PayPal account. Hovering over this field will display the exact date and time (in local timezone) as to when the balance details were last updated.
Latest Transaction – this field shows the amount of the most recent transaction that has taken place to/from the PayPal account. This helps identify new sales and any spurious unauthorized debit transactions.
Transactions this month – shows the total number of transactions from the start of the current month.
Total Transactions – shows the total number of transactions through the lifetime of the synchronized PayPal account timeframe.

Notifications

The notifications section in the transactions dashboard shows the following:-

Notification messages – system wide and transaction relevant notification messages show up in the notifications area of this section. Messages such as transaction updates, those for payments and refunds, and other universal warning and error messages are highlighted here.
Send Money – the send money button allows PayPal merchants to quickly send money by entering the email address and amount.
Internet connectivity indicator – Shows whether the application has access to and is connected to the internet.
Activity indicator – indicates progress of any background and update processes that run from time to time.

Transactions Dashboard Notifications

Filters

The filters component of the Transactions Dashboard lets users separate out a few from all transaction by applying a variety of conditions. Only the transactions that match all the filter conditions are shown in the filter grid as resultants. Merchants can filter transactions by:-

Transaction Status – all possible statuses of transactions that exist within the PaySketch database show up in this filter selection dropdown menu. Select the status for which the transactions needs to be filtered against.
Date Range – a start and end date form the range. This defines the date filter criteria and only the transactions that fall within the range are shown in the result.
Real time search box – is a dynamic search provider which allows merchants to filter through transactions as they type. Transaction search keywords can include complete or part of name and email address, along with transaction statuses, transaction type and currency codes.

Filters

Transactions Grid

The transactions grid lists all the PayPal transactions in the latest transaction first sort order.

By default, 4 columns, each bound to a transaction attribute are shown in the grid. These are:-

Transaction date
Name
Status
Transaction Amount

More columns can be added or existing be removed by configuring the display settings from the Settings Dashboard.

Transaction Details

Details for each transaction shows up corresponding to the selected one from the Transactions Grid. As soon as a transaction from the grid is selected, its corresponding details, related transactions, order summary etc. show up in this section.

The transaction details section had a fixed and a few variable sections within. Depending on the type of transactions, several sections containing relevant information are shown and hidden:-

Refund PayPal Transactions

Besides viewing details, merchants can also refund payments by clicking on the Refund button that shows up in the Transaction highlights sections. Doing so will show a refund popup with fields to enter the refund amount and a note which will be associated with the refund.

Print Shipping labels

Shipping labels for purchases made via PayPal can now be printed easily with a click of a button. Simply click on the printer icon that shows right next to the buyer’s address field and take a printout.

Mark items shipped

Merchants also get the flexibility to mark items shipped. This can come in handy and be useful for future reference in case there are reasons to find this or related transactions for which the shipped items have not been received.

Footer

The footer in the transactions dashboard works coherently with the transactions that show up in the grid. It shows relevant data and summations corresponding to the grid transactions:-

Transactions - Shows the total number of transactions present in the grid. This helps when the search result returns multiple items.
Credit – In accordance with the transactions that credit the account, value in this field shows the total amount with which the PayPal account has been credited.
Debit – Shows the total debit amount from the PayPal account, with respect the the grid transactions.
Fees – Net fee that has been charged by PayPal for the transactions.
